The heat is turning up, which means that it’s time to skip on hot tea and coffee and opt out for something colder.
However, it’s your children you need to take special care of this summer, as they’ll probably go for a sugar-packed and chilled drink rather than for water.
To quench their thirst in something that’s equally tasty yet much more beneficial, here is a recipe for a beverage your kids will love.
The Mango Cooler
Instead of having to explain to your child why soft drinks are bad for them, why not try and let them taste something they’ve never seen before?
In just 5-10 minutes, you’ll be able to prepare a juicy, nutritious Mango Cooler that get’s its refreshing power from mint rather than from ice. This is perfect if you want to make sure your kids don’t get a sore throat.
Here is what you’ll need:
- 2 large, ripe mangoes
- 150 ml of milk
- 1 lime
- 1 handful of ice cubes
- 1 handful of mint leaves
- Brown sugar or honey
And here is how it’s prepared:
- Put the peeled and cut mangoes in a blender along with milk, lime juice and zest, ice, and mint leaves.
- Blend the mix until it is smooth and add brown sugar or honey according to taste.
- Blend once more and leave in the fridge for 5 minutes.
- Serve with additional mint leaves.
